Liverpool fans are reacting on Twitter to Eric Dier's performance for England against Belgium on Thursday.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder filled in for Liverpool's Jordan Henderson as manager Gareth Southgate made eight changes in Kaliningrad.
But few of those appear to have done enough to warrant starts when England take on Colombia in the last-16 on Tuesday, with Dier a popular target for critics after a 1-0 defeat for the Three Lions.
And Liverpool fans are being particularly vocal about the Tottenham man's showing - talking up their own player in the process.
This is what is being said...
Any England fan who doesn't appreciate Jordan Henderson should take a long hard look at what Dier is offering in the same role.— Carl (@Carl_M79) 28 June 2018
Absolutely no contest as to who the better footballer is.
Imagine thinking Dier is better than Henderson.— Ian Ryan (@Ian1892T) 28 June 2018
Cannot believe Henderson vs Dier debate for the midfield spot was a thing. Dier is so awful.— Sam (@VintageSalah) 28 June 2018
Dier is everything Twitter tells you Henderson is— David (@dshanahan930) 28 June 2018
Dier over Henderson didn’t work! Say what you want about him but Dier, captain as well, just doesn’t fill that hole! Hendo has matured into a sweeper you can’t leave out of that starting line up! #ComingHome ⚽️— Danny Miller (@DannyBMiller) 28 June 2018
There's people out there who genuinely think Eric Dier brings more to a team than Jordan Henderson.— David Hickman (@DavidHickman87) 28 June 2018
It's clear that this England team really misses the influence of Jordan Henderson.— Matt (@FalseFirmino) 28 June 2018
Eric Dier makes Henderson look truly world class.
Dier is the definition of poo. How is Henderson and Dier even a debate?— (@FirminoEra) 28 June 2018

Watching Eric Dier makes me appreciate how good Henderson is, in fact, It makes me appreciate how good Biscan and Salif Daio was #LFC— KopTalk1892 (@KopTalk1892) 28 June 2018
Eric Dier is the worst footballer at the World Cup, seen more mobility from my toaster— Eoin Cullen (@EoinCullenLFC) 28 June 2018
Spurs fans have to watch Eric Dier play football every week. Feel sorry for them— Josh (@LFCJosh23) 28 June 2018
Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tottenham's Danny Rose were also among the England changes, although both players will half-expect to be on the bench again next week.
Adnan Januzaj scored the game's only goal early in the second half, while Marcus Rashford missed arguably its best chance later on, leaving Southgate's men second in Group G.
Is the criticism from Liverpool fans accurate, or simply bias?
