Werner’s Germany face Tottenham star Son and South Korea on Wednesday at the World Cup.

Germany striker Timo Werner has been quoted by football magazine FourFourTwo as saying that Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min is one of the best attackers in world football.
The Germans face South Korea in the World Cup on Wednesday afternoon in Russia, which will see RB Leipzig talisman Werner come up against 25-year-old Son for a place in the last 16.

Son’s South Korea have already been knocked out – despite the Spurs star scoring a goal of the tournament contender against Mexico – after losing both of their Group D outings. Germany, however, can still progress with a win.

Werner was asked about the upcoming game and urged his side not to underestimate South Korea, before declaring that he believes Son is one of the best forwards in world football.
“They have very quick players, Sweden were more about power and size, whereas South Korea are smaller but pacey,” Werner said.
“Son is up there with the best in the world, we have to keep an eye on him. We shouldn’t be looking at our opponents too much, though.”

Werner, 22, has been linked with a move to Spurs in the past, with the striker admitting to German newspaper Bild in the past that he would be interested in a move to Tottenham.
Last season, Son arguably enjoyed his best campaign of his career, scoring 18 goals from the wing as well as laying on 11 assists for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The former Bayer Leverkusen star has certainly reached his best under the Argentine boss, clocking up 140 appearances for Spurs. He has two years remaining on his current contract with the north Londoners.
