Wayne Rooney will reportedly leave Everton for DC United in the summer transfer window.

Wayne Rooney will complete his move from Everton to DC United tonight, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that the Manchester United legend has undergone a medical with the Major League Soccer outfit.

The report has also claimed that Rooney, who can operate as a forward or as a midfielder, has decided to move to MLS rather than remain at Everton and play under Marco Silva.

Miss for Everton?

Rooney joined Everton last summer, and the performances of the former England international were not bad.

The 32-year-old scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 27 Premier League starts for the Toffees last season.

The former United star is past his prime, but his displays during the 2017-18 campaign suggest that he can still do a good job in the Premier League for a season or two.

Everton endured a disappointing season in 2017-18, but with a new manager in charge – Marco Silva – the Toffees could have a very successful campaign.

Rooney could regret leaving Everton too early, especially if the Toffees go on to break into the top six or even the top four in the Premier League next season.
