Barcelona have been long-term admirers of the Tottenham Hotspur star.
According to a report from Spanish media outlet Don Balon, some of Barcelona’s key players, including Luis Suarez, are pleading with the club’s hierarchy to sign Tottenham star Christian Eriksen this summer.
The Denmark international joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12.5 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the continent’s best attacking midfielders, racking up an impressive 56 goals and 69 assists in 226 appearances in all competitions.
Tottenham are a completely different side without the 26-year-old, and keeping hold of him this summer will be vitally important to their chances of making a sustained push for the Premier League title this season.

Don Balon claims that some key members of the Barcelona squad are desperate to see Eriksen pitch up at the Camp Nou this summer.
The Spanish publication claims that Spurs value the Dane at €100 million (£87.6 million), however, and it is doubtful that the Catalan giants will be able to stretch to that amount.
Don Balon are well known for their outlandish claims, and Tottenham fans will be hoping that this is another one of their weird and wonderful concoctions.
