West Ham United are taking matters into their own hands to seal a double transfer deal according to reports from Italy.

Felipe Anderson Armando Izzo

West Ham have been linked with a big money move for exciting Lazio star Felipe Anderson and Genoa defender Armando Izzo but the moves have been stalling for a number of weeks now.

The Hammers are trying to make Brazilian Anderson their marquee signing of a new era under Manuel Pellegrini, as reported by the likes of Sky Sports.

Co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have been promising supporters the move to the London Stadium would enable them to compete in the transfer market for players of Anderson's ilk.

West Ham United owners David Sullivan and David Gold look on prior to the Premier League match between Burnley and West Ham United at Turf Moor on May 21, 2017 in Burnley, England.

The 25-year-old winger scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in an injury-hit season for Lazio last term during which he helped the Rome club to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Meanwhile Pellegrini has publicly admitted strengthening West Ham's defence is his first priority, as he told the club's official website, and Izzo is central to those plans.

The potential transfers, particularly that of Anderson, have had more twists and turns than the Orbital Tower outside the London Stadium.

But now West Ham's directors - most likely new director of football Mario Husillos rather than co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold - will take matters into their own hands to get the deals over the line by jetting to Italy on Friday, as claimed by Sportitalia and reported by Football Italia.

The former coach of Manchester City, Chilean Manuel Pellegrini (L), arrives for the draw of the Copa Sudamericana football tournament, in Santiago, on July 12, 2016.

"West Ham United representatives will be in Italy tomorrow to discuss Felipe Anderson with Lazio and Genoa defender Armando Izzo," Football Italia reports.

"According to Sportitalia, the Hammers intermediaries are flying in for negotiations. The fee for Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson is expected to reach £35million, including various bonuses.

"As for Izzo, the centre-back has also been linked with Sassuolo, but West Ham have climbed to the front of the queue. Including bonuses, Izzo should end up costing around £9million."
