How do we judge Liverpool’s summer so far? Yes, they have overshadowed the exit of Emre Can by spending big on both Naby Keita and the coveted Monaco powerhouse Fabinho.
But they also proved unable to conclude a deal for Nabil Fekir, missed out on Thomas Lemar and have failed, so far at least, to sign the quality goalkeeper they very obviously need. A whole host of stars have been heavily linked but Liverpool’s goalkeeping options, as it stands, still read Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
So have the Reds missed a trick in not rivalling West Ham United for Lukasz Fabianski?
Fabianski has been one of the most impressive, if underrated, shot-stoppers in Britain over the last few years and Liverpool fans could quite rightly argue that he is better than any goalkeeper to pull on the gloves for them in that time.
And, at £7 million, Fabianski could prove to be one of the best value signings of this summer. But do Liverpool fans have a point or are they just getting desperate?
