Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Red Bull Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg this summer.
Emil Forsberg may be blowing his chance to win the attention of Liverpool fans, after his latest performance for Sweden.
The Swedes managed to beat South Korea 1-0 yesterday, to secure an opening game victory at the World Cup.
However, Forsberg did not impact on the match greatly, and Liverpool fans were less than impressed by the Red Bull Leipzig man’s contribution.
Looking at Forsberg today it’s hard to think it’s the same player who lit up the Bundesliga in 16/17, he’s been awful— Ollie (@LFC_Ollie) June 18, 2018
Forsberg looks really poor. Wanted us to sign him last season as well.— Drew (@LFC_Drew) June 18, 2018
Forsberg has been shocking— Rollins (@BassamLFC) June 18, 2018
I argued with Dave Hendrick till I was blue in the face that he was a one-season wonder. Guy is decent, but his outstanding season 2 years ago was a total fluke— Rex (@ThatRexGuy) June 18, 2018
idk if forsberg is nervous or sweden are in a bad system but the guy has not impressed at all.— kigen. (@Kiigenn) June 18, 2018
Not much of an impact from Forsberg so far…— Liverpool FC News (@LivEchoLFC) June 18, 2018
He was one of the 32 here https://t.co/aGLg64qwlO
He has been absolute crap in the friendlies before aswell.— Anders Törnlund (@anders_tornlund) June 18, 2018
However, the 26-year-old is likely to have to catch the eye more in future games, if he is to increase the demand for his services.
Liverpool are known to be looking for another attacking addition this summer, with Nabil Fekir still strongly linked with a move to Anfield.
Forsberg is a similarly creative talent, but he failed to have a big influence in Sweden’s first match in Russia.
Sweden are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Germany, in what looks set to be a highly intriguing clash.
