Mesut Ozil may have a World Cup winners' medal, but he has his work cut out to win another.
Arsenal ace Ozil had just one shot which landed off target as Germany fell to defeat in Moscow.
It came just 24 hours after North London rival Christian Eriksen provided a match winning assist for Denmark against Peru.
Ever since Eriksen and Ozil signed for Tottenham and Arsenal in 2013, for very different price tags, the two creators have been compared.
Ozil has won three FA Cups and one World Cup during this time, while Eriksen has no medals to speak of since signing for Tottenham.
Yet Spurs fans believe strongly that the pendulum is swinging in Eriksen's favour, with the Dane finising the league season with 10 assists to Ozil's eight.
Ozil struggled badly in Germany's defeat to Mexico, drawing widespread criticism.
