Nottingham Forest fans have their doubts over whether Goncalo Paciencia could arrive at the City Ground this summer.
Paciencia’s goalscoring record in Portuguese football is hardly remarkable, with the striker hitting the back of the net just nine times in 62 appearances in senior football.
And Forest fans have their doubts over whether the 23-year-old is on Aitor Karanka’s radar.
Gonçalo Paciência? Has to be nonsense. Can't dismiss Marriott for lack of Champ experience, then go for such an inexperienced player #nffc— Caz (@Caz_NFFC) June 17, 2018
Be amazed if we get him— jamesNffc (@jshanghai2002) June 16, 2018
A third Portuguese player would be welcome. We need real quality to push for promotion— Eric180 (@180_180_141) June 16, 2018
Why? Too many players who would be untried in English football.— Peter Stephenson (@forestred78) June 16, 2018
Forest have already used their contacts in Portugal this summer, with Diogo Goncalves and Joao Carvalho arriving recently in eye-catching moves.
Karanka is known to be on the hunt for a striker, as he looks to improve Forest’s attack.
Whether Paciencia is a target of the Reds remains to be seen, but if he did arrive at the City Ground, he could be another expensive addition for the Reds, as Porto are said to want £6.1 million for the youngster.
