Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the Lazio stopper.

According to Italian football expert Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio have told Liverpool that they will have to pay €40 million (£35 million) if they want to sign Thomas Strakosha this summer.

Jürgen Klopp is thought to be on the look-out for a world-class goalkeeper to replace Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet, but moves for Roma’s Alisson Becker and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak seem to be unlikely what with their astronomical release clauses.

Renowned Italian football expert Alfredo Pedulla claims that Liverpool could get their hands on Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha for a much more reasonable price, however.

Good signing for Liverpool?

The 23-year-old began his career with Lazio, and has since gone on to make 78 appearances for the Serie A outfit, chalking up 24 clean sheets during those outings.

Standing at just under 6ft 4 in tall, the Albanian cuts an imposing physique, and is an excellent shot stopper. He is also extremely agile for someone so big, and he would be an undoubted upgrade on what Liverpool currently have in the goalkeeping department.

He is still very young for a goalkeeper, and will surely go on to become one of the continent’s best, so if Liverpool do sign him for the quoted price of £35 million, it could turn out to be a real coup for the Merseyside outfit.
