The former Wigan Athletic manager is said to want Burn as John Terry’s replacement at Aston Villa.

Steve Bruce wants to raid former club Wigan Athletic for John Terry’s Aston Villa replacement, according to the Sun on Sunday (June 17th, page 59).
The Villa boss is said to have his sights on Dan Burn, after his side were forced to release Terry in an attempt to cut costs ahead of a third successive Championship campaign.

Burn played alongside Bruce’s son Alex at the DW Stadium and the report claims Bruce Jnr is also a big fan of the 6ft 7in centre-back.
Aston Villa’s financial state could make fee-paying deals difficult this summer, although the Midlands side are planning to sell some of their stars, according to the Sun on Sunday, with Bruce reportedly ready to move for Burn.
Bruce’s fellow north east native has one year left on his contract at Wigan – for whom he scored five goals en route to last season’s League One title – which could prompt the Latics to cash in on the 26-year-old.
Would Wigan’s Burn be a good signing for Aston Villa?
