West Ham United and Everton reportedly want Toulouse defender Issa Diop in the summer transfer window?

Everton’s hopes of signing Issa Diop appear to be over, as a report in France today claims that West Ham United are on the verge of completing the signing of the Toulouse defender.
Earlier this week, The Mirror claimed that West Ham had agreed a deal in principle with Diop, but it was also reported that Everton were still hoping to change the 21-year-old’s mind.

However, it seems that the France Under-21 international is set to join the Hammers in the summer transfer window.
According to a report in French publication L’Equipe today, West Ham and Toulouse have reached an agreement over a transfer fee of €25 million (£21.88m) for Diop despite interest from Spanish club Sevilla, who were ready to pay €15m (£13.13m).

It has also been reported that the youngster will sign a five-year contract with the Hammers and could go to London as early as next week.
It seems that the Hammers have won the race for the services of Diop, who is one of the best and most talented young defenders in Europe and would be a brilliant long-term signing for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
