Glasgow Rangers defender Fabio Cardoso, who has been at Ibrox since last summer, was impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rangers central defender Fabio Cardoso has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s heroics for Portugal against Spain.

Cardoso, who has been on the books of Ibrox club Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he joined from Vitoria Setubal for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £1.3 million, was impressed with the performance of Real Madrid star Ronaldo for Portugal against Spain in their World Cup Group B game.

The former Manchester United forward scored a hat-trick, as Portugal played out a 3-3 draw with Spain.

Cardoso, who is from Portugal and has represented his country at the youth levels, was blown away by the performance of Ronaldo.

The 24-year-old central defender has posted the following message on Twitter, which when translated from Portuguese reads: “Ronaldo never stop playing football please.”

Bruno Alves at the World Cup

Cardoso’s Rangers teammate, Bruno Alves, is part of the Portugal team for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

The central defender was an unused substitute during the match against Sapin, and it will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets in the tournament.
