Rangers have already signed a goalkeeper this summer in Allan McGregor.
Lovenkrands, who played for Newcastle for three years between 2009 and 2012 after a six-year spell at Ibrox that ended in 2006, posted on Instagram after signing a new deal to continue working in Rangers' youth academy.
The Gers have already completed six summer signings, spending big on defenders Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, while Jamie Murphy moves north from Brighton permanently.
Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor have joined on a free, while Steven Gerrard has lured Ovie Ejaria to Ibrox on loan from Liverpool, and now Krul has suggested that he would consider a move to Rangers by offering himself to Lovenkrands.
Krul, 30, finally left Newcastle last summer after 12 years to join Premier League newcomers Brighton on a year's deal, but he failed to dismount Mat Ryan. He is now a free agent, after leaving Chris Hughton's side.
Despite his lack of first-team football and being released by Brighton, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have amazingly claimed that Spanish giants Barcelona could consider Krul if Jasper Cillessen leaves the Nou Camp.
Rangers already have an abundance of goalkeepers following the signing of McGregor, with Wes Foderingham and Jak Alwnick fighting for the number one shirt. Liam Kelly, though, has joined Livingston.
