Leeds United fans want to see Luciano Becchio return to aid Marcelo Bielsa.
Leeds United finally look to be closing in on their new manager, with The Guardian reporting that a deal for Marcelo Bielsa is on the verge of completion.
The Whites sacked manager Paul Heckingbottom earlier this month after just four months in charge of the club, and Andrea Radrizzani has set about landing an exciting appointment in Bielsa.
The 62-year-old Argentinian is a legendary name in management and one of the leading tactical innovators of the last 20 years, often showing off a 3-3-1-3 system.
Bielsa's recent record is somewhat patchy, though. After excelling with Athletic Bilbao, Bielsa became Lazio boss in the summer of 2016 but quit after just two days in the job, and then lasted just seven months with Lille.
Bielsa has been out of work since December having been sacked by Lille after just five wins in 19 games, but Leeds are now banking on him rediscovering his magic touch as he heads for English football for the first time.
Bielsa will be looking for a backroom staff around him, potentially with some experience of English football, and Leeds fans believe they have found just the man to work alongside 'El Loco'.
Former Leeds striker Luciano Becchio – a fellow Argentinian – took to Twitter on Tuesday night to declare his lasting love for the Whites, having hit 86 goals in 221 games during a fruitful spell at Elland Road.
Now, fans want him to return to Leeds as Bielsa's assistant or even as a translator, believing that he can help Bielsa's transition into Championship football whilst giving him a 'Leeds man' to work alongside – but it remains to be seen whether the club and Bielsa himself agree with such suggestions.
