Spain's decision to sack Julen Lopetegui on the eve of Russia 2018 has sparked panic among Leeds United supporters.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are in the final throes of talks to appoint Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager.

But given the 62-year-old's vast experience at international level - having managed Argentine and Chile at World Cup finals - some Whites fans fear he could be approached by the Spanish FA (RFEF).

It has however been speculated that Spain will turn to Lopetegui's assistants Albert Celades and Fernando Hierro to lead them in Russia.

Luis Rubiales, the RFEF president, has vowed to alter things 'as little as possible' within the camp, ahead of Spain's opener against Portugal on Friday.

Incidentally, Hierro, the former Real Madrid and Bolton Wanderers midfielder, has often featured among the bookies contenders to be Leeds' manager in recent years.

Should Leeds fans fear an approach from Spain?
