Liverpool fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Pope has been on the books of Burnley since the summer of 2016 when he moved from Charlton Athletic.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a very successful season for the Clarets in 2017-18 and established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper between the posts.
Pope is also part of the England squad for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia this summer, although the 26-year-old former Charlton goalkeeper is unlikely to get any playing time.
Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that the Reds are planning to make a bid of £15m for Pope, who earns £15,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com.
If we fail to sign Alisson or Oblak— ٓ (@MalikLFC19) June 12, 2018
Which is very likely for owners like FSG
We should go for Courtois or Navas
Butland & pope aren't much better than our keepers maybe they're even worse
Scares me coming on twitter keep waiting to see Liverpool have signed Jack Butland or Nick Pope #LFC— john boii (@JSealeaf) June 12, 2018
Yeah I thought after Fabinho we were ready to be ruthless but doesn’t seem like it so far. Hopefully things change, especially for goalkeeper. Anyone along the lines of Pope, Butland etc is a failure for me— FUCK OFF BUTLAND (@False11Firmino) June 12, 2018
I hope we just end up panic buying Oblak instead the likes of Butland and Pope— Aniketh Baghoriya (@Aniketh310) June 12, 2018
Ik the other way around is the LFC way
But a man can hope
i’ll be very upset if we end up signing butland or pope https://t.co/CRP8SyUqwI— Vik (@LFCVik) June 12, 2018
If we sign Pope or Butland just cancel the season.— German Liverpool fan. (@ZombieLFC) June 12, 2018
We haven't had a good goalkeeper since Reina.
So we're down to Pope and Shaqiri...the good ol' FSG doing their business #LFC— Pedro J. Salazar C. (@ppedrossalazar) June 11, 2018
Pope would be a good option. He just had a Good season.— John Kilkelly (@JK5LFC) June 11, 2018
Nick Pope is a reasonable upgrade to the keepers Liverpool have and comes at a reasonable price of 12m compares to Allison 80m. Then the club can invest in other dept #lfc— Ike (@NG_Oasis) June 11, 2018
Wake up @LFC and the board, start signing players like Lemar, Alisson/Oblak, Dembele, Fekir! That's the sort of players will take us to next level not Pope, Shaqiri, Moses Simon!! Even us fans know what sort of players we need but Liverpool FC and the board have fallen asleep!!— ViniRoys (@viniroys) June 11, 2018
Alisson for £80m thats a huge amount of money even for this inflated market, i wonder how much Pope would be, iv like him this season and think he will only get better #LFC— chris walters (@robojellyfish) June 11, 2018
We will end with Pope propably. Great. From Fekir and Alisson to Shaqiri and Pope. Bad old LFC— Michael (@mike_pap3) June 11, 2018
We were going for the likes of Alisson and Fékir and then move on to Pope and Lanzini in less than two days, well only my club could do that. #LFC— Fathan (@FathanRays) June 11, 2018
DONT SIGN POPE FFS— Jordan (@malone15jordan) June 11, 2018
