West Bromwich Albion are reportedly once again trying for Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza, despite no longer being a Premier League side.

With just two days to go before the transfer window slammed shut last summer, the Express and Star reported that West Brom had agreed a £10.6 million fee with Fenerbahce for the signing of midfielder Josef de Souza.
But the move broke down. And, speaking to Turkish Football a month later, the three-time Brazil international claimed that he got cold feet as he was unsure about how much game time he would get at The Hawthorns.

Despite this, and the fact that West Brom were relegated from the Premier League last season, it seems that the Baggies are still hopeful of bringing de Souza to the Midlands.
Turkish publication A Spor is reporting that West Brom have repeated the £10.6 million offer they made last summer as they aim to put to bed one of the club’s longest-running transfer sagas. It is understood that the tenacious midfielder has just one year left on his contract and Fener should let him leave if West Brom’s offer is deemed to be enough.

It remains to be seen, however, what the tough-tackling Souza thinks now of a move to The Hawthorns. With Grzegorz Krychowiak gone and the likes of Gareth Barry and James Morrison tipped to leave too, de Souza could find opportunities easier to come by, but will he be put off by the fact West Brom are now a Championship side?
