Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is being tipped to bring Jon Flanagan to Ibrox but is a move to the Scottish Premiership plausible?

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has already raided his old club for the signing of Ovie Ejaria this week.

The Liverpool midfielder joined Rangers on a season-long loan from the Reds, but Gerrard is linked with bringing other players to Glasgow from Merseyside.

And fans on Twitter reckon that a move for Jon Flanagan now makes sense.

The 25-year-old defender has been released by Liverpool, along with Emre Can, and some supporters on social media believe that a move to Ibrox is possible for the right back.

It's certainly not unthinkable. After all, Rangers might need a right-back this summer.

James Tavernier is linked with a move to the Premier League and that would only leave Lee Hodson as the right-back option, so an upgrade is crucial.

Flanagan, who played alongside Gerrard at Liverpool, spent the second half of last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and played a role in keeping them in the Championship.
