Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to be handed the major boost of Reo Griffiths signing a new contract with Mauricio Pochettino's side.

According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Reo Griffiths is set to reject interest from elsewhere and sign a professional contract with Tottenham with the club mapping out his potential route to the Spurs first-team.

Griffiths is arguably one of the hottest properties after a stunning campaign for Tottenham's youth sides. The 18-year-old scored 34 goals in all competitions and was attracting attention from the Bundesliga with no professional deal agreed with Mauricio Pochettino's side.

However, the London Evening Standard is reporting that Griffiths is now set to commit his future to Spurs by penning a contract with the Premier League heavyweights

And it appears that the club have already earmarked their plans for the striker for next season. The London Evening Standard reports that Griffiths will feature in the under-23s initially having played most of his football in the under-18s this past season, and a decision on when he is ready for a call-up to the first-team will be made based on how he gets on at the higher level.

Spurs Reo Griffiths looks to attack during the Premier League 2 match between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur at Meadow Park on March 10, 2018 in Borehamwood, England.

Based on Griffiths' stunning form this past season, it is a massive boost for Tottenham that he appears to be ready to commit his future to Pochettino's side, especially at a time when a number of Bundesliga sides appear to be having some luck luring top prospects away from English clubs.

And while it appears that there are no plans to fast-track Griffiths into the first-team picture, he must realise that with Fernando Llorente struggling, there is a real incentive to make the most of his opportunity at under-23 level as perhaps a promotion to the senior side could come a lot sooner than some at Spurs are expecting.
