John Terry shone in the Championship for Aston Villa last season – but that doesn’t mean Derby County fans want him at Pride Park.

Ever since Frank Lampard was announced as the new manager of Derby County, social media has been dominated with speculation that John Terry could be about to join him at Pride Park.
One of the finest defenders of his generation is a free agent this summer after leaving Aston Villa upon the expiry of his one-year contract.
A Villa side under pressure from Financial Fair Play couldn’t afford Terry’s £60,000-a-week wages after a playoff final defeat to Fulham consigned them to another season in the Championship.

But 37-year-old Terry, who captained Villa all the way to Wembley, proved that age is just a number. And the Daily Star believe that a stunning move is on the cards.
It is understood that Terry has already agreed to join Lampard at Pride Park next season though he would have to take a massive pay-cut with Derby owner Mel Morris keen to cut costs.

But, from the reaction of Derby supporters, it does not seem that Terry would be welcomed with open arms. Derby already have one of the Championship’s most experienced squad but surely Terry is one golden oldie that could take them to the next level?
