Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic and Paul Heckingbottom’s Leeds United all have been linked with Hibernian midfielder John McGinn.

Ibrox club Rangers want to sign McGinn from Hibernian in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Record, while The Scottish Sun has reported of Celtic’s interest in the 23-year-old.

The Scottish Sun has also claimed that Leeds in the Championship in England and Sunderland in League One want the Scotland international, who is reportedly valued at £5 million by Hibs.

McGinn has opened up on his future and responding to speculation linking him with moves away from Hibernian.

While the 23-year-old Scotland international has stated that he is happy at Hibernian, he has suggested that a special offer could see him leave the Easter Road outfit.

McGinn told The Scottish Sun: “I still have a year to go at Hibs and I love it there. It will definitely need something really special to come along.

“The speculation is there because I have been playing well. I just have to deal with it. I am glad to be on the other side of the world, if I am honest.

“I am aware of what’s being said. I wake up to different speculation, but that’s something I cannot control. It’s good to get away from it.”

Leeds United, or Old Firm duo Rangers and Celtic?

It is hard to see McGinn leave Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership for Sunderland in League One in England in the summer transfer window, but Leeds, Rangers and Celtic are certainly feasible options.

Working with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Rangers could be attractive, although McGinn’s grandfather Jack McGinn is a former Celtic chairman.

Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England and will be aiming for the Championship playoffs next season, and playing in front of 30,000 fans in a very competitive league could be attractive to the youngster.

McGinn’s comments should make Leeds, Rangers and Celtic come up with good offers for one of the best Scottish young players at the moment.
