Rangers defender Bruno Alves’ future at Ibrox is in doubt this summer.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola have claimed that Liga NOS side Vitoria have opened talks with Rangers over a move for veteran defender Bruno Alves ahead of the summer window.
The 36-year-old has been on the fringes of the Rangers squad despite being one of the club’s highest earners, after signing a two-year deal under the guidance of Pedro Caixinha.

He managed only 25 league and cup appearances for the Scottish giants, with Caixinha’s replacement Graeme Murty hardly giving the Euro 2016 winner the chance to show what he is worth.
Steven Gerrard is set to take over as manager on Friday, and he has already been linked with three big-money moves for centre-backs in the form of Fenerbahce’s Martin Skrtel, Brighton’s Connor Goldson and Swansea’s Kyle Bartley.

With Russell Martin returning to Norwich City following his loan, the Gers are left with just Alves, Fabio Cardoso and Ross McCrorie at centre-back – the latter being preferred in midfield with David Bates joining Hamburg.
Despite their lack of options, 95-time Portugal international Alves could also be set to leave Ibrox and end his frustrating Rangers spell, with talks between the necessary parties already taking place over what is deemed as a “possible” move.
