Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring James Collins to Ibrox following his departure from West Ham United, with Middlesbrough also claimed to be interested.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are reportedly interested in bringing James Collins to Ibrox following his departure from West Ham United, but the Gers could face competition for the former Aston Villa star.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are interested in securing the services of Collins, who earns £35,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star.
The Ibrox club, though, are not the only club who have been linked with a move for the 34-year-old central defender this summer.

According to The Mirror (Transfer Live blog, 17:15, Saturday, May 26, 2018), Middlesbrough are interested in the former Wales international centre-back.
It has been reported that Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has made contact with Collins over a move to the Championship club this summer.
The report has also claimed that one potential hurdle would be that Collins would have to move his family from London to the North-East.

Rangers or Middlesbrough?
Middlesbrough are an ambitious club who will be aiming to win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League next season.
However, Rangers will pose a different challenge for Collins, who could be tempted to work with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and also have the chance to win the Scottish Premiership title.
