Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are again being credited with Jack Marriott interest, after Peterborough United reportedly priced the striker at £6.5 million.

The pair were last linked with Marriott during the January transfer window, although the names of Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday have appeared more prominently since then.

However, according to the Sun, the 23-year-old is wanted by Palace and Villa, as well as the Championship trio, in the summer transfer window.

Marriott scored 33 goals in his first season at Peterborough, who are resigned to losing him after their failure to gain promotion this campaign.

And it is claimed the League One side expect to get at least £6.5 million for the player they signed for half-a-million-pounds last summer.

Alexander Sorloth of Crystal Palace looks on prior to the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Newcastle United at Selhurst Park on February 4, 2018 in London, England.

Crystal Palace signed the Norway striker Alexander Sørloth on the final day of the January transfer window and have another centre-forward, Connor Wickham, back from injury.

However, doubts have emerged about the future of Christian Benteke, the former Aston Villa target man.

Villa will return to the Premier League with a win against Fulham on Saturday, and may look to strengthen their forward line if so.
