Nottingham Forest have held talks with Michael Dawson about a return to the City Ground, HITC Sport understands.
Dawson is out of contract at Hull City next month and although he has been offered a new deal by the Tigers he could still leave on a free transfer.
The experienced central defender came close to rejoining Forest during the January transfer window, only for the deal to fail to materialise on deadline day.

Forest have continued to monitor Dawson’s situation and they have rekindled their interest in the 34-year-old stopper.
Forest boss Aitor Karanka is keen to reshape his squad this summer and he sees Dawson’s experience as a valuable additon to his plans for next season.

Karanka has held talks with Dawson in recent weeks and the club are confident the defender will return to the club where he started his career.
Dawson came through the ranks at Forest and made over 80 appearances for the club before joining Tottenham in January 2005.
