Ivan Perisic was the subject of one of the biggest transfer sagas of last summer’s transfer window, with Manchester United linked on an almost daily basis to the Inter Milan winger.
By the time the window slammed shut in September, however, the jet-heeled Croatian was still at the San Siro with Inter’s £50 million price-tag seemingly succeeding in putting off Jose Mourinho’s big-spending Red Devils, as reported by the Independent.
One year on, however, expect to be reacquainted with Perisic.
It is understood that Spurs want a new left winger, which perhaps explains their ongoing interest in Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, via the Sun. Perisic, however, is a much more old-school wide man; a direct, chalk-booted attacker who is in his element when attacking opposition full-backs.
The former Wolfsburg and Dortmund ace scored 11 and set up 11 more in all competitions as Inter Milan finished fourth in Serie A, sealing a return to the Champions League for the first time in six years.
And that could be bad news for Spurs, with a place in Europe’s premiere club competition surely reducing Inter's need to sell in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
FC Inter News claims that Ramadani has told Tottenham that it would take a huge offer in order to prise the 29-year-old away from the Italian giants this summer.
If they are still demanding £50 million, this would require Tottenham to shatter their transfer record.
