Wolverhampton Wanderers are making a statement to the Premier League by reportedly targeting Bundesliga shot-stopper Bernd Leno.

Wolverhampton Wanderers warned the Premier League that they weren’t just going to make up the numbers next season.
Wolves have made all the right noises as they prepare for a first season back in the first division after six years away. Sporting director Kevin Thelwell says the club want to establish themselves as a top 10 side as soon as possible, while chairman Jeff Shi has pointed out that they aren’t scared to splash the cash in order to bring the very best to Molineux.
And if targeting the likes of Jack Butland and Rui Patricio wasn’t enough, there is now another international goalkeeper being linked with Wolves in the shape of Bernd Leno.

A six-time Germany international who was included in Joachim Low’s preliminary World Cup squad last week, Fussball Transfers report that Wolves have entered talks with his Bayer Leverkusen side seemingly prepared to sell as long as they receive more than £20 million.
26-year-old Leno has been one of the most coveted goalkeepers in Europe over recent seasons, with FT adding that he is a target for Atletico Madrid, while Napoli have also been in discussions about a potential move to Serie A to replace the departing Pepe Reina.
So if Wolves weren’t excited enough about the future under their Chinese billionaire owners, this latest transfer link is another sign that the club is hurtling in the right direction.
