Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur star.

Christian Eriksen of Spurs shoots at goal during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United at Wembley Stadium on January 4, 2018 in London, England.

According to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, Barcelona are prioritising the signing of Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen this summer.

The Dane joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12.5 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best players.

He has chalked up an impressive 56 goals and 69 assists in 226 appearances for the Lilywhites, but unfortunately for them, his fine displays have not gone unnoticed.

Don Balon claim that Barca have identified Eriksen as the ideal replacement for Andres Iniesta, with the Spanish legend set to leave the Nou Camp this summer after spending 16 years with the La Liga giants.

The Denmark international is so important to Tottenham, though, and it will be vitally important for them to keep hold of him, regardless of how much money they are offered for his services.

The problem for Spurs, however, is that when a club like Barcelona set their sights on someone, they usually get their man.

Much will depend on whether the Lilywhites can match Eriksen’s ambition during this summer’s transfer market, and if Mauricio Pochettino is sufficiently backed with substantial funds, there is no reason why the Dane will not hang around in north London for another year at least.
