Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window should they lose Harry Kane, and fans of the North London outfit should be excited.
Icardi is one of the best strikers in Europe, and the arrival of the Argentina international at Spurs would make Mauricio Pochettino’s side one of the most potent teams in attack.
The 25-year-old has scored 28 goals in Serie A this season and found the net 24 goals in 34 league appearances for Inter during the 2016-17 campaign, according to WhoScored.

The former Sampdoria star has been a consistent goalscorer for Inter in recent years, and signing him would see Tottenham make a massive statement of intent.
However, Spurs could struggle to secure the services of Icardi due to a potentially huge transfer fee.
With the Argentine striker’s contract running until June 2021, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Inter are unlikely to sell him on the pitch, especially with CIES Football Observatory valuing him at €91.2 million (£79.7m).

Tottenham do not tend to pay big money for players, and it is hard to see club chairman Daniel Levy cough up £79.7m for Icardi.
According to talkSPORT, Icardi has a release clause of €110m (£96.13m), and Inter could play hardball and may not be willing to negotiate for anything below that sum.
