Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy reportedly disagree about what the next step for the club should be.
It is this difference of opinions that has led to the Argentine's position with the North London side coming under question, with Chelsea thought to be interested.
Pochettino does not want to ruin his reputation with Tottenham by making a controversial switch to their rivals and will stay put for one more year.
However, unless Levy increases the budget to allow the 46-year-old to improve is playing squad then a departure from White Hart Lane could well happen in 12 months time.
Pochettino thinks that his chairman is too preoccupied with the building of the new 61,000 seater stadium and what has been a very good working relationship is beginning to become strained.
