Peterborough United have agreed a fee with Stevenage for striker Matt Godden, HITC Sport understands.

Godden is one of the most sought-after players outside the Championship following his goalscoring exploits for Stevenage during the last couple of seasons.

The 26-year-old joined Stevenage in the summer of 2016 after scoring 30 goals for National League South club Ebbsfleet in the 2015-16 campaign.

Godden scored 21 goals in his debut season for Stevenage last term and he netted 14 goals this campaign.

Godden's displays have not gone unnoticed higher up the football pyramid with Championship and League One clubs keeping tabs on the former Scunthorpe youngster.
