Tottenham Hotspur have long been linked with the Crystal Palace man but is he staying put?

It is only natural when certain players start making headlines that the inevitable links with the bigger clubs start circulating around the media.

The same can be said for Wilfried Zaha, who has had an outstanding season helping Crystal Palace turn around a terrible start to their Premier League campaign to finish strongly in mid-table come the final day of the season.

Averaging a goal every 3.5 games, the Ivory Coast international has once again attracted the attention of some of the Premier League's big hitters.

Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace is awarded with the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for April on May 8, 2018 in Beckenham, England.

However, despite daily articles stressing how close the 25-year-old is to a move away from the Eagles, reports could not be further from the truth.

What is forgotten when linking players with larger clubs are the practicalities behind a potential move.

A return to former club Manchester United is unlikely given his previous tenure at Old Trafford; plus a starting position would be almost impossible to guarantee given the Red Devils' current attacking options.

The same could be said for Manchester City and Chelsea, with neither team able to offer him a place in their respective starting eleven.

Liverpool have arguably the best front three in Europe right now while Arsenal's direction is still unknown.

That leaves Tottenham Hotspur who have reportedly sought Zaha for the last few seasons, as reported by the Mirror.

However, with Zaha on reportedly around three times what Spurs star Dele Alli is currently taking home, the prospect of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy breaking his self-set financial restrictions has already brought demands from current boss Mauricio Pochettino

Of course, there is also the fact that Zaha himself has insisted that he has no plans on leaving Selhurst Park in the near future, describing the club as his home.
