Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter reckon Danny Rose has just dropped a big hint over his future.

The controversial defender has only started four games for Tottenham in over two months.

The England left-back has struggled to displace Ben Davies in Mauricio Pochettino's best XI at times, but here is what he told The Evening Standard on Tuesday: "I fancy myself against anybody in the league.

"Pre-season I'll come back and hopefully me and Ben start from scratch and we start again and work hard to nail that number one spot."

Rose has been linked with a £50 million move to Manchester United in the past [Daily Mail], while ESPN claimed on Tuesday that the former Leeds United youth could be sold to finance moves for others this summer.

The 27-year-old courted widespread criticism from Tottenham fans last summer after taking a swipe at the club's lack of business in the transfer window at the time, prompting suggestions that Pochettino could axe him.

But fans of the North London club believe that his latest comments are indicative of his plans to stay with Spurs beyond this summer.
