The speculation on the future of the former Newcastle United midfielder should not come as a surprise to Tottenham fans.
Although the France international has played more minutes in the Premier League this season than he did during the 2016-17 campaign, the 28-year-old is largely a squad player who is not guaranteed a place in the Spurs starting lineup.
There have been some encouraging performances from Sissoko, but the Toulouse star has yet to justify the £30 million transfer fee Spurs paid Newcastle - as reported by BBC Sport - in the summer of 2016 in order to secure his services.
With Sissoko earning £95,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star, it should not come as a surprise to anyone if Tottenham decide to sell the midfielder this summer, especially if he has a good World Cup with France in Russia.
The question is whether any club would be prepared to pay £30m or more for Sissoko, as his value has certainly not gone up since his move from Newcastle to Tottenham in the summer of 2016.
