According to odds on Paddy Power, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is 7/1 to join Rangers in the summer transfer window and work with his former teammate Steven Gerrard.

Sturridge played with new Rangers manager Gerrard at Liverpool, and the odds of the England international striker moving to Ibrox are 7/1.

The 28-year-old striker joined the Merseyside outfit from Premier League rivals Chelsea in January 2013 when Brendan Rodgers - now in charge of Celtic - was the manager of the Reds.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the former Manchester City striker’s current contract with Liverpool runs until June 2019.

Rangers move unlikely?

Sturridge, who joined West Bromwich Albion on loan Liverpool in the January transfer window, earns £120,000 per week as salary, according to The Express.

Given the former Chelsea striker’s huge salary, it is hard to see Rangers afford the England international striker.

Then there is the small matter of Liverpool being paid a good transfer fee in order to part company with Sturridge.

Despite his injury issues, Sturridge would be a very good signing for Rangers, but it is very unlikely that the Gers would be able to sign him.
