Celtic loanee Christie is currently with Aberdeen.

The 23-year-old has been in fantastic form for Derek McInnes’ side this season, scoring eight goals and laying on another 15 assists as the Dons close in on second place. His form has even seen him earn two Scotland caps.
But Christie could have played his last game for the Dons, with Celtic facing Aberdeen in both side’s last league game of the season. Christie will be unable to play as rules dictate he cannot face his parent club.

Watching from the stands, Christie may find it tough to choose a side to support. But Celtic legend McAvennie reckons the midfielder should leave Parkhead for good and move to Pittodrie beyond the end of the season.
“I think he [McInnes] needs a lot of new players in this summer,” McAvennie said. “I think he’s got to try and sign Christie, because it would be pointless as he would not get a game.
“They’re strong in midfield and up front, he would be bit part. That’s not what the boy needs. He needs games regularly and he’s a big player for Aberdeen so why not tie him down to a contract”.

Celtic do indeed have plenty of options in attacking midfield, with the likes of Charly Musonda, Stuart Armstrong, Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor all being used in between the midfield and attack this season.
Christie only has a year remaining on his current deal at Celtic Park, and could be allowed to leave on the cheap this summer with the Hoops likely to want to avoid losing him on a free.
