Lyon ace Nabil Fekir has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, according to the Mirror, and the player's father told Olympique-et-lyonnais.com what he has heard about his son's potential switch to Anfield.
The 24-year-old has been exceptional for Lyon this season, chalking up 22 goals and seven assists in 38 appearances in all competitions thus far, and he has been a major contributing factor behind his side's rise to second place in Ligue 1.
Fekir is an incredibly talented footballer, and can play anywhere along the front-line, although he is most comfortable when operating in the number 10 position.
He would offer Jürgen Klopp an entirely different option at Anfield, what with his nouse in and around the penalty area, and he would provide stiff competition for Liverpool's famous front three.
The France international's father refuted claims that his son is nearing a switch to Merseyside, however, when speaking exclusively to Olympique-et-lyonnais.com, insisting that he would have been privy to any meetings held between Fekir and Liverpool:
“Nabil in Liverpool, that's wrong. I hear there are arrangements, stuff like that... I was surprised. I can deny this information right now - it's not true. Otherwise Nabil would have told me right away, we are very close. I can guarantee you that he never met him (Jürgen Klopp)."
Football is a funny old game, though, and it would be no surprise to see the 24-year-old plying his trade on Merseyside next season, if Liverpool do in fact come in with a concrete offer for his services this summer.
