Arsenal fans on Twitter respond to Massimiliano Allegri tweet

Arsene Wenger manager

Arsenal fans have responded to a Massimiliano Allegri tweet on social media.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus looks on during the serie A match between Juventus and Udinese Calcio on March 11, 2018 in Turin, Italy.

Arsenal fans on Twitter have urged Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri to succeed Arsene Wenger in North London.

The Gunners are on the search for a new manager after Wenger announced last month that he would be stepping down at the end of this season after 22 years in charge.

Allegri is favourite to take over at the Emirates by all the well-known bookmakers, but Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira have also been linked with the role.

The 50-year-old led Juventus to Coppa Italia success on Wednesday following a 4-0 drubbing of his former club AC Milan in Rome - their fourth successive Italian Cup title - and Allegri will almost certainly add a Serie A crown to his already-impressive CV shortly.

Juventus FC coach Massimiliano Allegri looks on before the TIM Cup match between Juventus and Atalanta BC at Allianz Stadium on February 28, 2018 in Turin, Italy.

He has won seven major titles since joining the Italian giants in 2014 - and led them to two Champions League finals, losing to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively - and Arsenal fans are desperate to see him take over from the Frenchman this summer.

Here is how they responded to his tweet:
