Arsenal fans on Twitter have called on their club to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland this summer.
The Potters’ 2-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace today confirmed their relegation into the Championship.
As a result, quite a few of City’s heavy hitters – notably Butland and Xherdan Shaqiri – are unlikely to stay at the Bet 365 Stadium beyond this summer.
Arsenal arguably need a new goalkeeper, with Petr Cech turning 36 in a couple of weeks, while David Ospina is as inconsistent as they come.
It will be a new era for Arsenal this summer following Arsene Wenger’s imminent departure, and fans of the North London club would love to see Butland arrive and Cech leave.

Butland has been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers, but you have to imagine that the Gunners have more pulling power than Wolves at the moment.
That being said, the England international, 25, is unlikely to go cheap and Stoke boss Paul Lambert slapped a £70 million price-tag on his head this week [The Sun], after Wolves were reportedly weighing up a £35 million swoop.
