West Ham's Manuel Lanzini is ideal for Tottenham, but the Hammers can't let it happen

West Ham play-maker Manuel Lanzini would be the ideal summer addition for Tottenham, but the Hammers simply cannot allow the Argentine to join their London rivals.

The 25-year-old joined the east London outfit initially on loan in the summer of 2015, before making his switch a permanent one the following summer, for a fee believed to be in the region of £9.4 million.

He has since gone on to establish himself as a real fan favourite at the London Stadium, making 99 appearances in all competitions for West Ham, and chipping in with 18 goals and 16 assists in the process.

Lanzini would be the ideal summer addition to Mauricio Pochettino's squad, and he would provide the Spurs boss with a totally different option in the final third.

The Hammers ace possesses exceptional technical ability, and has the ability to unlock the opposition's defence with his keen eye for a killer pass.

Lanzini's presence at Tottenham would help lift the creative burden from Christian Eriksen's shoulders, and the Argentine would surely improve himself if surrounded by the likes of the Dane, Dele Alli, Harry Kane and co.

The 25-year-old is so important to West Ham, though, and they simply must not allow him to join Spurs, regardless of how much money they are offered for his services.

The Lilywhites certainly possess the kind of financial muscle that could tempt the Hammers into selling, and it might just be hard for Lanzini's head not to be turned, if Tottenham do in fact make advances for him this summer.
