Liverpool head to Roma tomorrow night for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco addressed the media today ahead of his side’s huge Champions League clash with Liverpool in Rome tomorrow night, and confirmed that it is highly likely that key player Kevin Strootman will miss the game through injury, as reported by Calcio Mercato.

The Reds head to the Stadio Olimpico with a three goal advantage after beating the Serie A side 5-2 at Anfield during the first leg of their Champions league tie last week.

Roma will have to be at their very best if they are to have any chance of turning the semi-final tie around, but they do have previous, after overturning a 4-1 deficit against Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

Di Francesco confirmed that Kevin Stootman is likely to miss the game through injury, however, in what will be a major blow to the Italian side’s hopes of progressing through to the final, as quoted by Calcio Mercato:

“As for injury news, unfortunately it’s hard to see Kevin Strootman being involved.”

The Dutchman has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Roma this season, and has been integral to the manner in which they go about their business, so Liverpool will surely be relieved to see his name missing from the team-sheet tomorrow night.
