Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen.
According to The Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in a £20million swoop for Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen to boost their Premier League squad.
Wolves have secured the Championship title and will be back in the top flight next season, with Nuno Espirito Santo's side certainly deserving a place back in the Premier League.
Portuguese talents such as Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa have played major parts in their success, but so have domestic stars like John Roddy, Conor Coady, Matt Doherty and Barry Douglas, with another domestic signing reportedly planned despite links to more players on the continent.
With speculation surrounding the future of Neves, another midfielder is being targeted, and The Sun report that Wolves want to bring in Stoke City star Joe Allen this summer.
The former Liverpool ace joined Stoke in 2016 and starred with six goals and two assists, but that has reversed this season in a more reserved role, grabbing two goals and six assists.
Stoke look set for relegation to the Championship, and 28-year-old Allen certainly won't want to feature in the second tier, with Wolves now allegedly planning an ambitious £20million bid to lure him back to the Premier League if he drops down a division.
A player with major Premier League experience, Allen would bring a lot to this Wolves side, and a host of top flight clubs would no doubt love to have him in their engine room.
Wolves fans would no doubt be encouraged by the club's intentions this summer if they secured a deal for Allen, and the dream would surely be to pair him with Neves in a superb central midfield duo.
