Tottenham Hotspur will need new signings this summer, and one report suggests that manager Mauricio Pochettino has three targets in mind.
Spurs are again set to end the season with no trophy to their name, as they will now make it 10 years without silverware despite having arguably their most talented team in decades.
Pochettino may lose experienced players such as Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele this summer, and speculation suggests he already has his sights set on new additions.
The Mirror report that Tottenham are now targeting three Portuguese internationals; Southampton right back Cedric Soares, Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves and Sporting winger Gelson Martins.
Defender Soares is looking set for relegation with Southampton, but Neves has been promoted to the Premier League with Wolves, and speedster Martins is enjoying a fine season with Sporting.
Tottenham fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with many happy with links to Neves and Martins, believing that they are young players with bright futures ahead of them even if they will be difficult to sign.
However, Cedric is dividing opinion, with some feeling he isn't of the required standard Spurs need, and if Tottenham are going for another right back, then Portuguese international teammate Ricardo Pereira is a safer bet.
Defo wont be complaining if we get Cedric, Martins and Ruben Neves #THFC— (@Deleinho) April 25, 2018
Not sure about Cedric. Would happily take Neves and Martins.— Jack Andreetti (@Jackandreetti12) April 25, 2018
Would actually be a solid trio. Especially Gelson. If Son does miss the first few months of the season, would be a good replacement and faster— Kyle Caldarelli (@KAC443) April 25, 2018
That says it all about our ambitions if true we need to buy big to challenge for the league cause other teams will spend another 200 odd million in summer this is why were that far behind when 2 years ago we were in front of the city's etc— Colin Gilmore (@thfcgilmore) April 26, 2018
Happy with all 3 of them think neves from wolves would be the most difficult one to get out the 3 tho but be class if this happened— Addicted To Spurs (@addicted_spurs) April 25, 2018
how completely underwhelming. still not after proven quality i see. more middle of the road players.— dave harris (@daveyh84) April 26, 2018
Yeah cos Levy is going to deal with Gestifute.— SHARKY (@Belgian_Hotspur) April 25, 2018
Neves is class though, would take him in a heartbeat. Martins doesn't offer anything we don't have. If we're looking at a Portuguese RB it should be Pereira rather than Cedric https://t.co/MoxCzMCbdQ
I would love Ruben neves he would fit in our system well and add more creativity, Cedric would be great been solid in the prem the past few seasons, and I haven’t watched martins at all— «» (@calumjones99) April 25, 2018
