Southampton fans cannot believe that Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Cedric Soares.
A number of Southampton fans have taken to social media to express their shock at reports coming out of the Daily Mirror which have suggested that Tottenham have included Cedric Soares on their list of summer targets.
It has been a miserable season for the Saints, and they are running out of time to pull themselves out of danger in the Premier League, with four points separating the club from safety with just four games to go.
With just one league win coming since the end of November – and that coming against West Brom during one of their own dreadful runs – it appears that a large section of the Saints supporters are resigned to their fate this season.
Should they go down this term, it seems more than likely that there will be a mass clear-out at St Mary’s, and Cedric appears set to be one of those who will be offered the chance to move elsewhere.
The Daily Mirror has reported that the Euro 2016 winner is being pursued by Tottenham with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly unconvinced regarding Serge Aurier’s future at the club.
While the Saints supporters may be disappointed at the prospect of losing some of their players however, it appears that Cedric is not one that they will particularly miss, as they feel that he has been extremely poor this season and is someone who can be overrated by those who do not watch him week-in, week-out.
Therefore, the Saints fans who have taken to Twitter believe that selling Cedric to Spurs could be a brilliant move for them and Tottenham may end up regretting moving for the defender.
