Glasgow Rangers’ development side won 6-0, and that has led some of the Ibrox faithful to ask for Glenn Middleton to get his first-team chance.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Glenn Middleton’s tweet after the Gers’ development side thrashed Leicester City 6-0 on Tuesday, with many expressing their hope that he will soon by plying his trade in the first-team – perhaps as soon as Sunday.
Middleton only joined the Light Blues during the January transfer window, but has made a massive impression for the youngsters, regularly providing assists and also chipping in with a few goals along the way. And Tuesday’s clash with the Foxes was no different.

Zak Rudden may have stolen most of the headlines by bagging a hat-trick against the Premier League side, but Middleton also got on the scoresheet and set up a handful of goals for his teammates.
The game provided another reminder that the Gers may have an absolute gem in their ranks, and he is definitely one player to keep a keen eye on in the coming years, if not sooner.

After the game, Middleton took to social media to comment on the result and the fact that he was, once again, right in the mix when it came to goals and assists in the emphatic victory.

In response, a number of Gers fans have suggested that he should be considered for the first-team in the very near future, perhaps even for Sunday’s Old Firm clash with Celtic as he clearly has a lot of confidence right now and is backing that up with some brilliant form.
It would certainly be a gamble to hand the January signing his senior debut in the cauldron of an Old Firm game, but perhaps Graeme Murty should take note of the fact that several fans not only want to see him involved, but actually want him to appear in the starting lineup at Parkhead.
