Gamboa has struggled for playing time so far this season and does not appear to be Celtic’s plan in the final games of the campaign.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, the 28-year-old right-back has made just one appearance for the Glasgow giants since October.
The former West Bromwich Albion defender, though, will be an important player for Costa Rica at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia this summer.
Costa Rica manager Ramirez has suggested that he will speak to Celtic boss Rodgers, with The Scottish Sun claiming that he is due to met the former Liverpool boss and Gamboa at the Hoops’ training complex on Thursday.
Ramirez told The Scottish Sun: “I will go and talk to some of my players around Europe and explain to them my plans for during the World Cup preparation.
“It is also important to have a good relationship with the clubs and managers and see the situation of all of the players, particularly the ones who have not been playing like Cristian Gamboa, to try to negotiate the incorporation of some players before they finish their season.”
Gamboa has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Premier League club West Brom for a transfer fee reported by Herald Scotland to be worth £1 million.
The right-back has failed to establish himself in Brendan Rodgers’s first team and has made only 24 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, as stated on the club’s official website.
