Liverpool drew 2-2 away at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool decided to change up their side for Saturday's trip to West Bromwich Albion, but they could only muster a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns.
The Reds are busy preparing for Tuesday's Champions League semi-final clash with Roma, and that meant that Jurgen Klopp rotated his side in order to save some stars for the Anfield bout.
When Danny Ings opened the scoring in the first half, Liverpool appeared to be on their way to victory over the relegation-bound Baggies, with Mohamed Salah seemingly securing the win by making it 2-0.
However, West Brom rallied and pulled one back through Jake Livermore, before Salomon Rondon grabbed a late equaliser to send Liverpool home with only a point, after being in a seemingly unassailable position.
Klopp won't be too impressed with that, and one player who is unlikely to be making an appearance against Roma is defender Joe Gomez, who struggled at West Brom.
The youngster started at right back against West Brom but didn't impress at all, with Trent Alexander-Arnold almost certainly set to make his return against Roma.
Fans took to Twitter to slam the England international, suggesting that his concentration levels aren't good enough and he simply should't play at right back, with others claiming that Liverpool need to loan him out or even sell him this summer after his poor displays.
Joe Gomez mistakes have cost @LFC more points than either keeper this year. Himself and Moreno are not up to it— joey delaney (@Eire_Scouser) April 21, 2018
I always prefer Trent to Gomez .... Gomez so error prone and lacks concentration when it matters#lfc— P_Larry (@Jux_Larry) April 21, 2018
Really like Joe Gomez but he's prone to lapses in concentration and so casual at times and until he gets this out of his system he can't start in the big games. It's happened a lot this season, TAA learnt from his mistakes but he hasn't but mark my words he will #LFC— Mac (@loiner1957) April 21, 2018
Gomez should be loaned or sold, too many mistakes and cost us a win. #lfc— DrIToN X (@xdriton) April 21, 2018
Gomez needs to step up because what he’s now is not good enough for #LFC and not good enough for the number of games he’s played— hesham LFC (@hesham91lfc) April 21, 2018
Gomez was really poor again, he makes to many mistakes when he plays right back #LFC— Robert Evans (@robevs91) April 21, 2018
I can accept Gomez not playing well after a lay off. Can’t accept how casual he was throughout the game. No excuse for that. #LFC— Simon Kehoe (@simonk5) April 21, 2018
Why keep fielding Gomez? This kid has endless mistakes, he really needs a for sale tag. @LFC would be in a better position if it was not of him.— Hamilton Chauke (@HamieChauke) April 21, 2018
