Liverpool fans can’t believe Andrew Robertson isn’t in the PFA Players’ Team of the Year.

The season is coming to its end, and that means that the PFA Players’ Team of the Year has been announced to recognise the season’s top performers.

Manchester City have run out as comfortable Premier League title winners, so it’s no great surprise that Pep Guardiola’s men dominate the Team of the Year.

Kyle Walker and Nicolas Otamendi feature in defence, whilst Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva are in midfield, with Sergio Aguero in the attack.

Tottenham are heavily represented with Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane all in the team, alongside David De Gea, Marcos Alonso and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool could maybe claim to have more than one player in the side, as the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino have starred this season, but Reds fans believe another Anfield star should have been included.

Left back Andrew Robertson has been a bargain signing for the Reds since signing from Hull City for just £8million last summer (The Independent), turning in a series of outstanding displays, especially in 2018.

However, the Scot has been overlooked for Team of the Year in favour of Chelsea star Marcos Alonso, and Liverpool supporters are far from impressed.

Reds fans suggested that Robertson hasn’t put a foot wrong all season and has established himself as the top left back in the Premier League, claiming the decision to go with Alonso is baffling and ‘shocking’.
