Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri is a target for Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace if the Potters are relegated from the Premier League.

Stoke City might not be playing Premier League football next season but there is a good chance that Xherdan Shaqiri will be.

The former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan winger is the most naturally gifted player in the relegation-threatened Potters squad and, thus, the most likely player to leave this summer if Paul Lambert cannot save his side from the drop.

But according to Calciomercato, Shaqiri will not be short of options if Stoke, who are five points adrift of safety, return to the Championship after a decade in the top flight.

The report states that Premier League trio Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham will offer the Switzerland international a lifeline after what has been arguably his most impressive individual campaign yet in a Stoke shirt.

Shaqiri has struggled for consistency and fitness since his £12 million move from Inter Milan in 2015 but has seven goals and six assists in England’s first division this season, suggesting that he would be a fine addition for Everton, West Ham or Palace if they can coax the best form out of this enigmatic talent.

Everton, West Ham and Palace would all benefit from a little added creativity and unpredictability in the final third and Shaqiri, who will not come cheap due to a contract that runs until 2020, could provide exactly that.
